Elise Guinn

Elise Marguerite Guinn was born on May 5, 1963, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Sarah (Bringer) Guinn and Gene Alan Guinn passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at her residence. Elise was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Steven Ellen Guinn. 

Elise is survived by her cat Biscuit or sister, Alison (Guinn), her brother-in-law Joseph Coffey, her nephews Jordan and Liam Coffey and her niece Marguerite Elise Coffey Covington. Elise Is also survived by her two great nephews,’ Walter and Desmond Coffey. Elise received her diploma from Washington Community High School in Washington IL and went on to have a long career in the healthcare management field assisting patients and medical providers with getting the services they need and helping them navigate the bureaucracy inherent in the medical system. Elise worked at Keppel and Company, Aetna, OSF Healthcare and then for Humana as a project analyst. Elise took great delight and satisfaction in problem-solving, cutting through red tape to help patients with their best possible care. 

Elise was an analytical thinker with an amazingly with a comedic flare she was also a closet gourmet who read cookbooks like novels and watched cooking shows for techniques not recipes. She was a lover of music of many different genres. More than anything she appreciated the art of comedy. “You’re funny” was a major compliment from Elise. 

Elise fought a long battle with several concurrent illnesses and passed peacefully in her home in the presence of family and loved ones.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private family service will be held.  In lieu of flowers and in keeping with my sister’s love for her cat, Biscuit please send donations to
