Elizabeth E. "Betsy" Boles, 81, affectionately known as Betsy, was born on October 5, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI, and passed away peacefully at her residence in Peoria, IL, on May 23, 2023.

Betsy was the cherished daughter of the late Lyle and Nita Radichel Boles. She is survived by her loving siblings, Merry McCarrick of Pekin, IL, James (Doris) Hoover of East Peoria, and Ann Alley of West Peoria. Betsy was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Waldbeesser, and three brothers, John Hoover, William Boles, and Joseph Hoover.

Betsy attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL, where she excelled in her studies and formed lifelong friendships. After graduation, she began a rewarding career in the textile and food service industries. Betsy was a dedicated and hardworking professional known for her attention to detail and commitment to providing quality services to her clients. Her work ethic and genuine care for others earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and peers.

In her free time, Betsy had a passion for reading and puzzles. She could often be found engrossed in a gripping mystery novel or challenging herself with a complex jigsaw puzzle. Her love for literature and problem-solving extended beyond her interests as she shared her enthusiasm with her nieces and nephews, instilling in them the same appreciation for the written word and the joy of discovery.

Throughout her life, Betsy was a loving and generous caretaker for many children in her community. She took great pride in helping to raise and nurture the children of her friends and family members, always providing a warm and supportive environment for them to grow and learn. Her unwavering kindness and patience impacted the lives of those she cared for, and her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in them.

Betsy's thoughtfulness extended beyond her immediate circle, as she was always the first to lend a hand or offer encouragement to those in need. Her selflessness and empathy were a beacon of light for many, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Those who had the privilege of knowing Betsy will remember her as a loving, generous, and thoughtful individual who touched the lives of everyone she met.

She always dedicated herself to being the mother to other mother’s children; Mary, Becky, Karen, Mike Mark, Patricia, Diane, Trisha, William, Nikki, Betsy, JoAnn, Derek, Alex, Kyle, Misti, J.J., Michelle, Chrissy, and the late Diana Luncsford.
