July 7, 1936 ~ January 30, 2024 (age 87) 87 Years Old
Frank E. Duffy, 87, of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away on January 30, 2024 in Peoria, IL. He was born in Quincy, IL, on July 7, 1936, to Frank and Olive Duffy. Frank, known affectionately as Duff, was a beloved family member and friend.
Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 as a Weatherman on the USS Yorktown. His dedication and commitment to his military associations were commendable.
After his military service, Frank embarked on a successful career. He worked at Hyster and then Komatsu for 20 years, specializing in operating drill presses. His dedication to his craft was evident in his work. Additionally, Frank spent ten years as a starter at Newman Golf Course, where he shared his passion for golf with others.
Frank had various hobbies outside of work that brought him joy. He enjoyed playing golf, which started when he worked as a Golf Caddy at Mt. Holy Country Club in junior high and high school. He also enjoyed immersing himself in a good book, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and spending quality time with his friends, especially his beloved friend, Shirley, who helped care for him and was with him at the time of his passing. He was proud of his family. All who knew him will deeply miss Frank's zest for life and warm presence.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Judy Marshall, and brother Danny Duffy. He is missed by his sister Mary Ann Humphrey, nephew Brendan Marshall (Michelle), niece Amy Couri (Jayson), nephew Rick Herchenbach (Liza), his best friend Shirley, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private graveside service at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton will be held at a later date to honor and remember Frank. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
