Harry Yoakum

Harry G. Yoakum, 78, of Elmwood, IL, passed away at 12:35 pm, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at his residence with family by his side.

On April 1, 1943, he was born to Paul E. and Lucille Thomas Yoakum in Colfax, IA.  He married Teresa J. McCoy on August 25, 1987, in Las Vegas, NV.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters Kerry Williams and Paula (Scot) Jehle, all of Elmwood, and one son Jeff (Dianne) Yoakum of Weatherford, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: one brother Terry Yoakum of Red Oak, IA.  His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Harry worked for the City of Elmwood for 32 years, last working as the Supervisor of the water department before retiring in 2005.  He was a member of the Elmwood Fire Department, Elmwood Trap Club, and Maple Lane Country Club, where he served as past president.  Harry was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to the Elmwood Fire Department, BYE Ambulance Service in Elmwood, or the American Cancer Society.
