Harvey "Danny" Snider, 61, of Oakhill, passed away peacefully at 4:52 pm on Sunday, October 15th, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 14th, 1962, in Peoria, Harvey was the son of the late Harvey Jack and Barbara (McCoy) Snider. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Ace Cole, Mary Snider, and Mark and Geneva (Dunn) McCoy, and his niece Kelsey Catton. He is survived by his four sisters, Colleen Peters and Marcia Snider of Oakhill, Christine (Tom) Ramsay of Elmwood, and Lynne (Roger) Catton of Canton, IL. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Mark and Tom of Brimfield, IL, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Harvey was a dedicated worker, spending a decade with Jimaxx Landscaping LLC. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his love for his family and his passion for hunting with his dogs. Harvey was known for his kind heart and gentle spirit.
Harvey's life was marked by his unwavering kindness and his love for his family. He was the kind of man who would go out of his way to help others, always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own. His love for hunting was a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors. He found joy in the simple things in life.
His life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at New Hope Fellowship Church in rural Farmington. Following the service, Harvey will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Oakhill, IL. A gathering for friends and family will commence at 1:00 PM at the Kickapoo Sportsman's Club to honor Harvey's life.
