Jeanette Blackwell

Jeanette Diane "Di" (Hurst) Blackwell, 93, of Peoria, IL, passed away on January 20, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. On November 22, 1928, she was born in Peoria, IL, to H. James Bushnell and Miriam (Calkins) Bushnell.

She was raised by her stepfather and mother, Stanley E. and Miriam Hurst. She married William H. Blackwell Jr. on May 20, 1948, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death, as did her parents and granddaughter-in-law Valentina Myres, and grandson Joshua M. Blackwell.

Surviving are three sons, William H. (Margo) Blackwell of Norfolk, VA, Kevin S (Loretta) Blackwell of Las Vegas, NV, Willis A. (Stephanie) Blackwell of Louisville, KY. Three daughters, D. Lynne Ceja of Peoria, IL, Marlene M. (Russell) Myres of Hennepin, IL, and Megan R. (Jeff) Grow of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one step-great grandson, four step-grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, and one step-great grandson.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service is Scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2022, at First Christian Church of Peoria. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until her time of service also at the church.
