Jessie Lou Newman

Jessie Lou (Turner) Newman, 91, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington, IL.

Jessie was born in Spencer, IN on December 17, 1926. She was married to Lawrence Newman on May 21, 1976. He passed away November 26, 2011 after 35 years of marriage.Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Beverly Lesones and Jeanette Condon as well as one grandson, Gregory “Bubba” Lesones.

Jessie is survived by her brother Rufus Turner Jr of Stilwell, KS, daughter, Debra Anderson of Madison, WI, stepson, Mike (Marilee) Newman of Carmel, IN, and grandchildren, Sue Ellen Sorrells, Lisa Ford, LaDonna Boxley, Joline (Jason) Worsfold, Lisa Ball, and Ryan Newman, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

Jessie enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, playing the organ, and lazy boat rides up the St. Joe River. In her later years she enjoyed seeing her grandchildren, playing bingo, and participating in activities at Farmington Country Manor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Farmington Country Manor Activities Department. The family of Jessie Lou Newman wishes to thank the staff of Farmington Country Manor and Vitas Hospice for taking care of our mother and grandmother like she was their own.
