Jimmie “Jim” Dusten, age 64, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, at his home in Peoria surrounded by his family. He was born to Jimmie Lee and Rose Marie Dusten on June 10, 1956, in Canton. He married Claudette Wilkinson on May 28, 1974 in Martinsville, Illinois.
Jim is survived by his wife, Claudie of Peoria; one son Randy (Jackie) Dusten of East Peoria; one daughter Amanda (Chad) Kerns of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are three sisters Janet (Jerry) Segler; Debby Taylor; Shelly (Rick) Perry, and one brother John Dusten. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Howard Taylor.
Jim worked for WABCO, Keystone and Caterpillar in Peoria as a fork-lift operator, retiring in 2015. He was an avid fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and the University of Illinois Basketball.
Cremation will be accorded. There will be no visitation and a private memorial service at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria. There will be a celebration of life held in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to OSF Hospice Care.
