Kris M. “Gripper” Griepentrog 51, died peacefully at home surrounded by his closest friends and family on April 23, 2020, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
He married the love of his life Sally Ann Sullivan on August, 28, 1999, in Washington IL. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Brian Jacobs of Normal IL, Riana (Bradley Bustle) Jacobs of East Peoria, IL & Seth Griepentrog of Eureka, IL.; his mother Linda Griepentrog of Gleneden Beach, OR along with two brothers Keith (Linda) Griepentrog of Gleneden Beach, OR & Ken Griepentrog of Englewood, CO. His father David Griepentrog preceded him in death.
Kris was a 1986 graduate of Eureka High School in Eureka, IL and then attended Witchita Automotive and Electronics Institute in Witchita KS. Kris was an Automotive Body & Paint Technician by Trade. He was employed for several years by Sam Leman in Bloomington IL & Uftrings in Washington IL before finding his place at Eureka Collision Center in Eureka IL where he remained for 20 years.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was an avid dart player with Outer Limits and Cindy’s Corner Pub in Roanoke. Kris created beautiful custom stained glass pieces in his spare time. Kris was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love, family and friends.
