Obituary
Linda L. Grier, 84, of Peoria, passed away at 3:15 PM, Saturday June 4, 2022 at Rivercrossing Nursing Home in East Peoria, IL. She was born Wednesday, June 23, 1937 in Los Angles, CA. to Charlie and Mary Ada Waughop Sommers.
Linda graduated from Washington Community High School in 1955. She first married Harold E. Lightbody in 1957 and later marring Ned “Skip” Grier.
Linda worked in the bookkeeping department at First National Bank, Commercial National Bank and South Side Trust & Savings Bank, all in Peoria, retiring in 2008.
Survivors include: daughters, Kelly Fulks, Shawn Lightbody both of Peoria and Kathy (Scott) Burns of Washington, three grandchildren: Staci (Andrew) Smith of Illinois, Sarah (Michael) Urbanc of Peoria and Joseph Knollenberg of Washington. Nine great-grandchildren: Dylan, Alexis R, Olivia, Isabel, Sophia, Ariana, Alexis M, Alyson and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “Skip” and grandchildren, twins, Amy & Amber Knollenberg and Robert L. Burns.
Linda had 2 cats, Lucy & Snoopy whom she adored. She enjoyed feeding the wildlife that came to her back porch, doing crossword puzzles and watching the Game Show Network.
Cremation will be accorded with graveside memorial services at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL. 61554.
