M. Doreen Jenner

M. Doreen Jenner, 97, of East Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023. She was born in North Wales, UK, on May 25, 1926, to Stanley Harold and Elizabeth Thomasine Beadle Stratford. She married Thoran E. Jenner on March 8, 1944, in the UK. He passed away on December 8, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one great-grandson.

Surviving are her children, Patricia (Ben) Moye of Peoria, IL; Jeannette (David) Ray of East Peoria, IL; David (Lene) Jenner of Aarhus, Denmark; Michael (Donna) Jenner of Washington, IL; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews in the UK.

Doreen retired from Caterpillar. She loved to sing songs from eras bygone, especially the 40s, recite poetry, was an avid reader, especially anything historical, and shared her knowledge of the Kings and Queens of the UK and her experiences during WWII in the UK. She loved her travels to Hawaii and countries in Europe, especially to Wales. Above all, she loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with them; she was lovingly called "nana" by her beloved grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. While there will be no public services here, Doreen's family will privately celebrate her life and legacy. Her remains will be taken back to Wales where a celebration of life will be held.  Her family invites you to share your favorite stories and memories of Doreen to honor her memory.
