Mark, J. McMillion, 68, of Peoria passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020, at his residence.
Mark was born September 17, 1951, in Dixon, IL, the son of James and Marjorie (Baker) McMillion. He married Lisa H. Fuentes on November 7, 1974, in Dixon, IL.
Surviving are his wife Lisa, one son Jeremy McMillion, one daughter Venessa (Fred Dixson), and two grandchildren Serayna Kline and Imari Kline and step grandchild Fred Dixson Jr. all of Peoria. Also surviving are three brothers John (Debbie) McMillion of Oswego, IL; Paul (Lori) McMillion of Humble, TX, and David (Carrie) McMillion of Humble, TX.
Mark was well known for being a free spirit, fun, loving "big guy." He was very family-oriented and adored spending time with his two granddaughters, caring for them much of their lives. He was an avid sports follower and a "die-hard" Chicago Bears fan. He also loved playing various sports, including frisbee golf, music, board games, and watching his favorite mystery TV shows and game shows.
He previously was employed at DDC, Kreider, Exceptional Care, and Self Help Enterprises in the Sauk Valley area. He had a special gift for teaching and caring for the mentally and physically disabled. During that time, he coached a Special Olympics Basketball team that went to State.
He attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL, and played baseball for them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2020, 1:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church 2020 W. Malone St in Peoria.
