Nancee Jurick

GROVELAND - Nancee M. Jurick, 74, of Groveland passed away at 2:55pm, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. 

She was born January 18, 1944 in Peoria daughter of Henry and Irene (Kaine) Hooste.

Surviving are four children Michael (Anita) Jurick  of Hopewell, IL,  David Jurick of Rome IL, Stephen Jurick of Bartonville, IL and Kimberly Jurick of Groveland, IL.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and one sister Lee Ann Smith of Creve Coeur, IL along with 8 nieces and nephews.  Two brothers Bob and Larry Hooste, two sisters Jackie Fitzjarrald and Becky Button and one grandson Bryce Ricketts preceded her in death.

Nancee’s children, grandchildren and family where the centerpiece of her life.  Nancee was a dedicated at-home mom raising four children.  She loved playing with the grandchildren over the years.  There would be times you would catch her teaching them mischievous things, like how to ride a sleeping bag down the stairs.  

She was self-employed, owning her own cleaning business and craft businesses called, “A Little Bit of This and That” and “LeeNans Curiosity Shop.” She had a special love for crafts and wood making.  She spent many hours gathering new crafting ideas from DIY TV and Fixer Upper.  She always looked forward to boat rides with her sisters and family along with her annual visit to the Par-A-Dice to ring in the New Year.  When relaxing you could find her watching Lifetime for Women, while munching on a big buttery bowl of popcorn.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the Amvets Post 169, 660 Radio City Dr. in Pekin.
