Obituary
Orville "Pete" Forquer, 85, of Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2023.
Pete was born April 2, 1937, in Peoria, to Ethel and John McGovern.
He leaves behind two children, Jeff (Susan) Forquer of Creve Coeur and Angie (Randy) Klein of East Peoria. He is also survived by his companion of 30 years, Wanda Kinman, and her son Jeremy, his beloved dog's piper and sweat pea. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn (Graham) Alcott of Napa Valley, CA, and Pat (Ed) Winchell of Topeka, IL; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother Jim (Mack) McGovern, and three sisters Leona Burton, Barb Polenc, and Sandy Marchand preceded him in death.
He worked for United Facilities for 40 years as Operations Manager retiring in 1999. Pete enjoyed refurbishing antique furniture with his good friend Dave Johnson at Country Road Antiques. In his earlier days, He enjoyed fast-pitch softball and going to drag races. Pete was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
A celebration of life will be held on Sat. February 4, 2023, at Da Joint, 1039 S. Laramie St., Peoria, at 2:00 PM.
