RaJean A. (Banhart) Smith

     RaJean A. Smith, 87, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at her residence.

     RaJean was born on November 13, 1933, in Flora, IL, a daughter of Ray and Lenora (Miller) Banhart. She married Corwin M. Smith on June 17, 1950, in Flora. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2009, in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Lee Smith.

     She is survived by her son, Ray (Linda) Smith of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Jeanette (Larry) Stovall of Arcola, IL, and Karry Delaney of Madison, MS; three granddaughters; and five great grandchildren.

     RaJean worked as a retail assistant at Venture for over 20 years. She was a member of Unity Church in Peoria, where she was very active and enjoyed being in the choir. RaJean helped many people with her “counseling” and baked goods. She listened, had great insight, and loved to cook.

     A Celebration of RaJean’s life will be held at Unity Church, 3117 N. Avalon Place, Peoria, IL at 11am on her birthday, November 13.

     Memorial contributions may be made in RaJean’s memory to the Unity Church listed above.
