Ralph A. Ginn

Ralph Arnold Ginn, 90,  of Chillicothe, IL passed away on September 15, 2022, at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born on February 13, 1932, in Hamburg, Iowa.

Ralph was married to Maryruth Ginn. He later married Deanna Welch in 1991. She survives. His daughters Allison (Scott) Goodyear of Peoria, IL, and Amy (Tom Westwater) Ginn of Durango, CO, survive along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Completing his family are Deanna's daughters, Sheila (Ken) Green of Lake Tahoe, NV, Lisa (Bob) Fortner of Morton, IL; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister Lynda (Larry) Ammann of Brookings, SD. One infant sister preceded him in death.

Ralph was a star athlete in high school and college. Ralph graduated from Tarkio College in 1954, then joined the Navy and became a pilot. He served in the Navy for four years and was discharged with his wings as a lieutenant. Ralph then settled in East Peoria and taught science and coached athletics at Woodruff High School for 35 years.

He was an avid and accomplished golfer and downhill skier. Ralph spent many years in the Sierra Club and Peoria Ski Club. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Many happy vacations camping in Warren Dunes, MI, were spent with his family. Deanna and Ralph were workout partners at Pearce Community Center in Chillicothe. Ralph will be missed by his "Round Table" friends. The family was Ralph's anchor, and he was devoted to his family members.

Ralph was a huge animal lover (especially cats) and had a pet by his side his entire life.

Cremation rites were accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to The Arc, 477 State Rt 26, Lacon, IL 61540.
