Richard Elmer Franklin, 71, of Metamora, IL passed away at 2:30 am on Friday, April 24, 2020 at The Loft Rehabilitation & Nursing in Eureka, IL.
Richard was born on May 31, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Blanco and Margaret (Schooley) Franklin. He was raised by his foster parents Atto and Elsie Paulsen. He married Lillie P. Dishman on July 2, 1976 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife Lillie of Metamora; children Teresa Kirkpatrick of Metamora, Diana (Doug Barrett) Lutton of Washington, IL, and Richard L. (Bobbi) Franklin of Streator, IL; nineteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother Tom (Ann) Franklin of Parker, CO; and sisters Parmalee Franklin of Peoria Heights, IL and Barbara Bell of Cape Coral, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, son Dale Behymer, and four brothers Steve, David, James, and Bob Busker.
Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1966 – 1969. He worked as a welder at Parsons Manufacturing in Roanoke, IL.
