Richard Schaefer II Obituary

Richard L. Schaefer II, 49, passed away at home, Saturday, October 9th, 2021, with his best friend, his wife, by his side.

He was born May 24, 1972, in Peoria, a son of Richard (Pam) Schaefer Sr, of North Carolina and Connie (Don) Kasten of Wisconsin. They survive.

He is also survived by his wife, Brooke Stewart Schaefer; sons, Richard L. Schaefer III, Tyler A. Schaefer, and Caleb L. Schaefer; siblings, Clay A. (Tammy) Schaefer, Jenniffer D. Schaefer, Michael B. (Natalie) Schaefer, and Kirstyn D. Schaefer; 2 nieces; 4 nephews; and his goddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Williard and Vivian Holman and maternal grandparents, Everett and Kate Auten.

During high school, Rick was a Sea Scout and upon graduating, enlisted into the Navy.  He served as an Interior Communication Electrician on several ships, including the USS St. Louis.

Rick loved his wife, children, family, and friends very much.  He was hard working and passionate about his own business, Lolas Slots.  Rick was humble and proud to be a part of the gaming industry for over 20 years.  Most people knew him as "Bones".  He was always helping others and lit up the room when he walked in.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing with his wife, at Shelbyville Lake.

There will be no public service or visitation at this time. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be at a later date.
