Rickey J. Parvin

Rickey Joe Parvin, a beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 64 on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on September 24, 1959, in Corinth, MS, to Johnney and Shirley Parvin, Rickey’s life was characterized by his friendly nature, adventurous spirit, and kind heart.

Rickey was a devoted father to his two daughters, Haley Parvin of Princeton, IL, and Misty Parvin of Washington, IL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren along with his daughter in law Natasha. He was preceded in death by one son Randy Parvin and one daughter Stephanie Parvin. His love for his family was evident in his actions and his words. He was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort for his family, always there to support and guide them.

He was a man of many interests. He had a passion for motorcycles, both riding and working on them. His adventurous spirit was evident in his love for the open road and the freedom it offered. He was also a fan of country music, particularly the songs of Alan Jackson, with "Little Bitty" being one of his favorites. Rickey was a collector of shirts and refrigerator magnets, each item telling a story of a memory made.

A devoted sports fan, Rickey was a loyal supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Alabama Crimson Tide Football. His love for these teams was infectious, and he could often be found cheering them on, surrounded by friends and family. He had a knack for making people happy. His friendly demeanor and kind nature made him a joy to be around.

Rickey’s life was a testament to his adventurous spirit and kind heart. He lived life to the fullest, always ready for the next adventure, always willing to lend a helping hand. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a constant reminder of a life well-lived.

While there will be no services, his family will celebrate Rickey’s life and legacy privately. Those wishing to honor Rickey’s memory can do so by sharing their favorite stories and memories of him.
