Rita Faye Veal, at the young tender age of 62, has gained her beautiful well-deserved wings and ability to watch over all of us. She flew high on September 20, 2020, at 3:09 pm from OSF medical center. She was brought to all on June 19, 1958, by Joseph Marcus Veal Sr and Angela Faye Veal(Wedding).
Rita has four brothers Dewey Lee Veal (Sherrie) of Scott City Missouri, Robert Steven Veal, Joseph Marcus Veal Jr, and Dale Wayne Veal (Jon Nightingale) of East Peoria Illinois. Rita has been reunited with her mother Angela (August 17, 2018) her brother Robert (November 9, 2001), and her brother Joe (May 10, 1994). Rita had two children; a son Jeremy Alan Veal (Dawn) of the age 41 of Pekin Illinois and a daughter Amanda Faye Wells of Creve Coeur Illinois of the age 37 (Troy of Peoria Illinois). She has four grandchildren Miranda Mueller of the age 21 East Peoria Illinois Robert Mueller of the age 19 Peoria Illinois Jared Mueller of the age 18 Peoria Illinois and Kiya Veal of the age 15 Pekin Illinois. Rita also has two Great Granddaughters Joyce Spica Faye Crique of the age 2 and Madisyn Faye Elam of the age 2 weeks. She has two nieces Angela Mamell(Jesse) and Heather Roberts both of Missouri. Rita has three great-nieces; Briunna Braylin and Aria. She also has three great-nephews as well; Broznin Zydric and Kalix all of Missouri as well. Rita has two step-grandchildren Marchana Zolicoffer of Kentucky and Troy Zolicoffer of Peoria Illinois. She also has two step great-granddaughters Rosie and Lilly Zolicoffer; along with two-step great-grandsons Dre'vontae and Jackson Zolicoffer. Rita also had a good friend that she claimed as a daughter as well as Jennifer Ann Lear and her daughter Abigail Nichole Hankins. Rita has had two marriages; Leonard James Mueller and William James Marrs Jr which both ended in divorce.
Rita has had many jobs through a long history of being a hard worker and many of them I as her daughter can remember. Rita worked at Proctor and Gamble and Florsheim when we lived in Jackson Missouri, through Labor Local 165 in Peoria Illinois as a flagger, R.L.Nelson's in Peoria Illinois, SAM'S CLUB in Peoria Illinois, Wal-mart in East Peoria Illinois, three different Casey's General Stores, Dollar General, VSI, through Canteen Vending Services as a cook for Caterpillar in East Peoria, nurses aid at OSF, housekeeping, and her very first job was that she helped her father and brothers in the family business of lawn care. Rita also when we moved to East Peoria Illinois she became a babysitter so she could spend more time at home with her kids. In which she met her good friends LeeAnn and William Eaton. Rita watched two of their children as they were over the road truck driver for extended periods of time. So, therefore, Angelia Hacker(Gleason) and Jeremy Gleason became like her adopted children.
Rita loved her plants, roosters, cooking, dogs, flowers, and shopping. She has had many dogs in which I CAN NOT name them all or I would have you here all day. She has always wanted to own chickens. Her favorite color was purple. She claimed that she didn't like people but I know she did due to the fact she was an organ donor. With that being said her liver has been transplanted and her pancreas is being sent to research. Rita is one of the biggest hearted loving caring nurturing honest blunt people I know. She would give you the shirt off of her back to help someone. Rita took wonderful care of two of her grandchildren as if they were her own with no questions asked and never regretted any of it. Rita was a very special lady with a lot of spunk and sass. This woman was loved by so many and has left a memorable impact on so many. All the children of the trailer park she lived at (Grandview Mobile Home Park) in East Peoria Illinois either called her mom or grandma. She also led a lot of them down a wonderful path with her gentle guidance and they have turned out to be wonderful adults and parents themselves. Rita also loved to pick on Steven Creson in which she said would be her son one day and she fully believed that. She would call to check on him almost every day. That was part of her morning routine and to see how work went for him. She sure will be missed by many, loved by all, and to never be forgotten by any.
I wrote your name in the sky but the wind blew it away;
I wrote your name in the sand but the water washed it away;
So I wrote youyour name in my heart;
WHERE FOREVER IT WILL REMAIN.
Since Rita's wish was to be an organ donor and then to be cremated, this is what was respectfully done. Therefore there will be no services but Amanda will be holding a Celebration of Life for her.
