Ronald Clagg

Ronald H. Clagg, 82, of Galesburg, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in Peoria, IL. He was born on March 10, 1941, in Plainwell, MI, the son of Howard and Johanna Beyer Clagg He married Carole Howell on May 20, 1972, in Las Vegas, NV, and she passed away on November 2, 2015, in Galesburg, IL. One son David Clagg also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his three daughters, Stephanie Veatch of Tucson, AZ, Rhonda Barone of La Habra, CA, and Kimberly Day of Canyon Lake, CA; two sons, Christopher Clagg of Ormond Beach, FL, and Robert Clagg of Cypress, CA; one brother, Douglas Clagg of Arizona; and one sister, Connee Harnden of Baxter, IA. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive his life.

A proud and honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran, Ronald dedicated many years of his professional life to working at the Rock Island Arsenal as a machinist, retiring in 1994. His strong work ethic, pleasant personality, and commitment to his family impacted all who knew him.

Ronald will be forever remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His kindness and warmth will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories shared by his loved ones.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 12 noon at The Oaks Senior Center, 176 N. Farnham St. in Galesburg.
