Rose Marie Poos

Rose Marie Poos, age 84, passed away on March 7, 2021, in Peoria.  Rose was born to parents Anton and Rose (Kamin) Kaurinas in Peoria, Il, on April 29, 1936. She married James R Boland Jr., deceased in 1967. She later married Elmer D Poos, deceased. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Matthew David Boland, and 6 siblings.

She is survived by her son Michael (Sue) Boland of Janesville WI, her daughter Patti (Kent) Bobell of Chillicothe Il, her sister Barbara (Ged) Charvat of Largo Fl, Grandsons Steven (Lisa) Weaver of Hanna City, Michael Boland of East Peoria and Matthew (Jen) Bobell of Middle Grove, granddaughter Teresa (Matt) Fleming of Norwood, great-granddaughters Morgan and Madison Weaver, Isabel and Grace Fleming and Micka Boland, great-grandsons Tucker and Everett Jones. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children who she loved and shared a wonderful relationship with all, near and far. 

Rose was a lifelong Peoria resident who retired from OSF St. Francis Medical Center in her late 70's. She was the proud owner/operator of Peoria's Big 500 tavern for many years and really enjoyed the opportunity to socialize with people from all walks of life.

Her family and friends have many "interesting" memories from parties, celebrations, and all kinds of get-togethers in memory of the BIG 5 with Rose. She was a unique, outspoken, opinionated, fun-loving woman who was generous and loyal to family and friends. She loved good jokes, family parties, quilting, baking, and good old Westerns. Her family and friends will dearly miss rose's warm heart and common sense.
